Filmrecension: Med matte mot evigheten - Hufvudstadsbladet

2018-12-26 · Updated December 26, 2018. Srinivasa Ramanujan (born December 22, 1887 in Erode, India) was an Indian mathematician who made substantial contributions to mathematics—including results in number theory, analysis, and infinite series—despite having little formal training in math. Ramanujan's story is as inspiring as it is tragic. Born in 1887 in a small village around 400 km from Madras (now Chennai), Ramanujan developed a passion for mathematics at a young age, but had to pursue it mostly alone and in poverty.

He was born in a smallish town in India on December 22, 1887 (which made him not “about 23”, but actually 25, when he wrote his letter to Hardy).

However, during his nearly six years in Britain, Ramanujan had to endure the racism and contempt of English society. Ramanujan is an biographical film based on the life of renowned Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The film has been shot back to back in Tamil and English languages.

Ramanujan’s Formula for Pi. First found by Ramanujan. It’s my favourite formula for pi. I have no idea how it works. 1 π = √8 9801 ∞ ∑ n=0 (4n)! (n!)4 × 26390n+1103 3964n 1 π = 8 9801 ∑ n = 0 ∞ ( 4 n)! ( n!) 4 × 26390 n + 1103 396 4 n.

Svenska Engelska översättning av Srinivasa Ramanujan

Srinivasa Ramanujan, (born December 22, 1887, Erode, India—died April 26, 1920, Kumbakonam), Indian mathematician whose contributions to the theory of numbers include pioneering discoveries of the properties of the partition function. Srinivasa Ramanujan was born on December 22, 1887, in Erode, India, a small village in the southern part of the country. Shortly after this birth, his family moved to Kumbakonam, where his father Ramanujan was born on December 22, 1887, in Erode, a city in southern India. His father, K. Srinivasa Aiyangar, was an accountant, and his mother Komalatammal was the daughter of a city official. Though Ramanujan’s family was of the Brahmin caste, the highest social class in India, they lived in poverty. Needless to say, there’s a human story behind this: the remarkable story of Srinivasa Ramanujan. He was born in a smallish town in India on December 22, 1887 (which made him not “about 23”, but actually 25, when he wrote his letter to Hardy).
